My Philosophy

Rachel Denney Speech and Language Therapy service is dedicated to helping children and young people thrive and reach their full potential.

At the heart of my practice is a strengths based, neurodiversity affirming approach.

Guided by compassion, expertise, and creativity, I tailor each therapy session to foster meaningful progress. Your child’s sensory and emotional wellbeing will always be prioritised.

Specialist Speech & Language Therapy

Each bespoke, specialist speech and language therapy session is delivered either in your home or your child’s educational setting.

I am an experienced Speech and Language Therapist, registered with:

  • RCSLT (Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists)
  • ASLTIP (Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice)
  • HCPC (Health and Care Professionals Council).

I hold an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service).

My Approach

Every child and family’s communication journey is unique. I begin with a comprehensive assessment to understand your child’s strengths, needs and communication and interaction goals.

Together, we create a personalised therapy plan. Therapy sessions are interactive and fun, using evidence-based approaches.

Using a child-led, play based approach means that communication and interaction targets are addressed a way that is meaningful for your child.

Collaboration

I believe in the power of teamwork. While I am a specialist in communication, you are the expert in your own child. Collaboration with families, carers, educators and other professionals ensures that therapy is holistic and it maximises progress.

I work with you to embed practical strategies to support your child’s communication at home and in daily life.

With your consent, I will share information with your child’s network such as their educational setting, NHS speech and language therapy services, occupational therapy, paediatrician and GP.
